THE GHARANA PANTRY
Choosing and storing your mustard oil
Start with the seed, the pack and the way your kitchen cooks. Here is a practical guide to the Gharana mustard oil range.
What does kachi ghani mean?
Kachi ghani refers to the traditional pressing of mustard seeds to extract oil. Gharana’s mustard oils are cold-pressed from Rajasthani mustard seeds. Check the product description and pack label for the details of the oil you buy.
Black or yellow mustard oil?
Black mustard oil is made from black mustard seeds; yellow mustard oil is made from yellow mustard seeds. Both are offered in 1 litre bottles. Mustard oil brings its characteristic aroma and pungency to pickles, tadkas, marinades and everyday cooking. Choose the seed variety that suits your household’s recipes and taste.
A bottle or a tin?
A 1 litre bottle is a convenient starting point for a household. The 15 kg black mustard oil tin is a larger pack for kitchens that use more oil. The tin is sold by weight; its 15 kg pack size should not be read as 15 litres. Compare current prices and availability on the product pages.
How should mustard oil be stored?
Keep the pack sealed in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. Close it after each use, keep water out of the container and follow the best-before date and instructions printed on your pack.
What should I check before ordering?
Check the product name, ingredients, pack size and price. The Gharana product pages show current stock and pricing. Delivery charges are calculated in your cart before payment.
